Who is the programme for?

The Therapy Programme is designed for people aged 12-17. We support teens experiencing:

  • Anxiety or stress

  • Self-esteem or identity challenges

  • Low mood or depression

  • Social isolation

  • Neurodivergent-related overwhelm

If you're unsure whether the programme is a good fit, we can discuss this during the intake process.

How long does the programme last?

The programme runs for 6 weeks, with four x 50 minute sessions each week. Each session is facilitated by a different therapist (counsellor, psychotherapist, art therapist and music therapist).  The programme follows a curriculum with a weekly theme and session structure. This intensive format has been shown to be beneficial for clinical impact.

How much does it cost?

The group-based structure allows us to offer a much more cost-effective therapeutic support option. Pricing is available on request.

What technology do participants need?

You will need:

  • A device with a camera (laptop, tablet or phone)

  • A stable internet connection

  • A private space where you feel comfortable

We can help you test your setup before starting.

No artistic or musical experience is required — the creative activities are about self-expression, not skill.

How does the online format work?

All sessions are delivered live via a secure, GDPR-compliant video platform (Zoom for Healthcare). The online format makes support accessible from anywhere in the UK.

Parents and participants will receive:

  • Onboarding call or email

  • A joining link and session reminders

  • Technical guidance

  • Safeguarding guidance

  • Weekly check-in system

  • Crisis signposting information

How effective is online therapy?

Research such as the below study published in the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry shows that telehealth online sessions can be just as effective as meeting in person, making it a strong option for receiving high-intensity and high quality care from home.

What actually happens in a session?

Each session in the programme is guided by a qualified therapist and includes a mix of guided exercises, self-expression activities, and group discussion, all designed to help participants understand their emotions, build self-esteem, and connect with others who share similar experiences.

Because the programme includes four different therapy modalities, each session looks a little different:

Counselling Session

  • Grounding or check-in exercise

  • Discussion around themes like anxiety, stress, relationships, or confidence

  • Tools such as thought-challenging, emotional awareness exercises, or coping strategies

  • Space for participants to share reflections (only if they choose to)

Psychotherapy Session

  • Exploration of patterns, behaviours, and underlying emotions

  • Activities such as visual metaphors, guided reflections, or “parts of self” work

  • Group discussion that builds understanding and supports emotional regulation

Art Therapy Session

  • Creative exercises using drawing, colour, shapes, or simple materials

  • Activities might explore identity, emotions, boundaries, or self-expression

  • No artistic skill is needed — artwork is used as a tool for insight

  • Optional sharing and reflective conversation

Music Therapy Session

  • Exercises centered on lyric analysis, meaningful songs, playlists, and songwriting

  • Exploring emotions through themes or lyrics that resonate with participants

  • Guided discussions about identity, mood, relationships, and coping

Across all sessions, participants are free to share as much or as little as they feel comfortable. Sessions are carefully structured, paced, and trauma-informed, always focusing on safety, connection, and emotional wellbeing.

Every session in The Therapy Programme is led by a qualified therapist and combines guided exercises, creative activities, and supportive group conversations. Each week introduces a different therapeutic approach, giving participants multiple ways to explore their emotions and build confidence.

Counselling Sessions

Our counselling sessions focus on understanding thoughts, feelings, and everyday challenges. Participants take part in grounding exercises, learn practical coping tools, and explore topics like stress, anxiety, relationships, and self-esteem.

Psychotherapy Sessions

These sessions help participants understand patterns, behaviours, and deeper emotions. Therapists guide gentle reflective activities and group discussions that support emotional regulation and personal growth.

Art Therapy Sessions

Using simple materials, participants engage in creative exercises that support self-expression and insight. No artistic skill is needed. The artwork becomes a starting point for reflection, connection, and understanding.

Music Therapy Sessions

Through lyric analysis, meaningful songs, and simple songwriting exercises, participants explore identity, emotions, and personal experiences. Music becomes a safe way to express feelings and connect with others.

Across all sessions, participants share only what they feel comfortable sharing. Every group is carefully structured, paced, and trauma-informed; designed to help people feel understood, supported, and less alone and always focusing on safety, connection, and emotional wellbeing.

Is the programme confidential?

Yes. All sessions follow strict confidentiality and data protection guidelines. Group sessions remain confidential to the participant unless there is a safety concern. Information will be shared if a therapist has a safeguarding concern and believes someone may be at risk of harm. This will always be explained clearly.

How are groups formed?

Participants are carefully matched by:

  • Age

  • Needs and goals

  • Shared themes (e.g., anxiety, confidence, transitions)

This ensures each group feels relatable, safe and supportive.

Do cameras need to be turned on in the sessions?

For safety and safeguarding reasons, cameras should be on during sessions. We understand some people feel nervous at first — we help everyone ease in gently and ensure every participant feels welcome.

Who delivers the sessions?

Each session is led by a professionally qualified and registered therapist, including:

  • Counsellors (BACP)

  • Psychotherapists (BACP/UKCP)

  • Art therapists (HCPC)

  • Music therapists (HCPC)

All therapists are trained in online delivery, safeguarding and trauma-informed practice.

Can I join more than one programme?

Yes. After completion of the first programme participants can choose to:

  • Join the alumni sessions held once a month

  • Join a second cohort

We can help guide what’s best for you upon completion of the programme.

What if I miss a session?

Because of confidentiality and safety, sessions cannot be recorded. However, your facilitator can provide a summary of the theme and an optional reflection activity.

What happens if a group participant feels overwhelmed during a session?

Therapists are trained to support emotional safety and will check in with you. If needed, a participant can take a break from the session, and therapists may arrange a brief follow-up conversation or signpost additional support.

Do you offer crisis support?

No. We are not a crisis service. If someone is in immediate danger, we will follow safeguarding procedures and contact appropriate emergency services. We also provide a crisis signposting list for anyone needing urgent help.

Can parents/guardian/carers be involved?

Yes. Parents/carers receive:

  • A welcome guide

  • Support on how to help their young person

  • Optional workshops (if selected)

Group sessions remain confidential to the participant unless there is a safety concern.

How do referrals work?

You can join the programme via:

  • Self-referral

  • Parent/carer referral

  • School or college referral

  • Community organisation or youth worker referral

Our intake team will then contact you to begin screening.

How do I know if this programme is suitable?

Our intake assessment helps determine suitability. If the programme isn’t the right fit, we will signpost you to more appropriate support.
